VCWS #6 Independent Problem Solving: The purpose of the VCWS #6 is to assess the ability to
pay attention to detail, and to compare and discern differences among variously colored
geometric designs. The work sample simulates sedentary work and makes the following
physical demands upon the evaluee: reaching, handling, near acuity, accommodation, and color
vision. Significant degrees of general learning ability, form perception, clerical perception, motor
coordination, finger dexterity, manual dexterity, and color discrimination are called for in order to
perform the work sample at a competitive level.
The Portable VCWS #6 is identical in administration and scoring. The change is in the
portability not the design, norms or high level of quality.
